Fighting Oppression In North Korea with USB Sticks (Flashdrives for Freedom)

Updated: Apr 1, 2021

If you had the chance to make a difference in North Korea, would you? The intense oppression that they are facing brought to them by their "Supreme Leader" Kim Jon-un has led to mass societal brainwashing. In North Korea, from birth, you are taught and forced to believe that Kim Jon-un is your supreme leader and God. You have no other choice but to believe in this. Techniques and punishments such as starvation and public execution are even used to keep the obedience and any form of rebellion could lead to fatal consequences for entire families. Any and all forms of entertainment are limited and censored by the government to the extent of execution just for having DVD's. Life is almost completely colorless and the reality is grim. But, the North Koreans do not give in to the oppression so easily and to this day still work diligently to find ways to enjoy simple entertainment like music, books, TV and movies.

This is where Flashdrives for Freedom comes into play. In a world where data, information, education and knowledge outside of the the North Korean borders is limited, they seek to provide a bridge to fill that gap and help bring enlightenment to the North Korean people about what their government is doing and what life outside of the border is like. Flashdrives for Freedom is a campaign that encourages people from all around the world to stand with them and take action in the form of unity and USB portable flashdrives. Yes... Send USB flashdrives! The amount of information and education that a single USB stick can hold is almost infinite. Add that with the fact that you are literally changing somebody's life forever and giving them a new hope and a new way of understanding life. You can't beat that.

The ultimate goal of Flashdrives for Freedom is to help revolutionize and change the current ways of the North Korean leadership and government through the rise and mass awakening of their people. This seems like an impossible task, but with the support from everyone that has the ability to do so, it can be accomplished to help make the world a better place.
